This morning's most important offer from the Place de Bordeaux is an ex-château release of 2011 Latour, offered at £1425 per three and with 97 points from Jane Anson.  With perfect provenance, stored in Latour's own cellars, serious collectors of this great name will wish to have at least a few bottles in their cellar.

The 2011 vintage has offered plenty of surprises over the last decade, as the wines have come into their maturity.  Anson comments on this Latour's firm tannins, which are just now beginning to soften.  The 2011 will drink well shortly after landing and will be near its peak over the next couple of years, remaining there for at least a decade.
