High-scoring 2019 Oregon Pinot Noirs from Eyrie Vineyards

We have managed to secure a small allocation of the sought-after 2019 Oregon Pinot Noirs from The Eyrie Vineyards in Willamette Valley's Dundee Hills.  Like the 2018 vintage that we offered in the autumn, the '19s come with some stellar scores from The Wine Advocate, as high as 98 points.

As we said when we offered the '18s, Eyrie has lots of kudos with lovers of cool, Burgundian-style Pinot Noir.  A 600-mile drive north of San Francisco, Willamette is cooler than Northern California.  In fact, the area was so cool that founder David Lett was advised by his viticultural professors at UC Davis not to plant there when he first considered moving to the region in the 1960s.  You can read more about his story below.

This cool climate really shows in the glass. We find the wines complex and subtle, with herbal notes and lots of secondary development five years after the vintage.  David's son Jason Lett took over as winemaker in 2005 and introduced the range of single-vineyards bottlings you see below.  They win almost uniformly high scores from The Wine Advocate and there are only good choices to be made in choosing from amongst them.

You'll see from the case quantities below that availability is very limited, so please let us know as soon as possible if you would like to add some to your cellar.  Please note, case sizes vary between 6s and 12s, as specified below.
