Tio Pepe En Rama 2024 Edition

Tio Pepe's Fino 'En Rama' was bottled in Jerez just yesterday, so sherry does not come much fresher than this!  Due to arrive in the UK in April, this is your opportunity to order this most authentic fine, dry sherry, to enjoy with seafood and tapas dishes this summer.

With the wine only just bottled, we have yet to taste it.  Previous releases have been in the style of a dry Fino, with a saline freshness and wonderfully complex fruit and yeast aromas.  En Rama is a real alternative to white wine to accompany a seafood-based meal.  At just £18 per bottle including VAT, the quality to price is exceptional.  Half-bottles are again available this year and we also have a limited number of magnums, a great centre-piece for a summer gathering.

You can read more about the fascinating history of the solera, dating back to 1846, below.

To enjoy the freshness of 'En Rama' we recommend drinking within 6 months, but it will age and develop a nutty depth over several years.  This is a wonderful drink to enjoy in the summer months, if not all year round, and our allocation will sell rapidly, so do order now to avoid disappointment.

Offered duty paid, excluding VAT.  Available for delivery by May 2024.

Tasting NotesTank sample. The palest rosé hue imaginable, almost indistinguishable from the domaine's white wine, although on closer inspection it certainly has the pale, onion-skin or coppery tints associated with fine rosé. The fruit is much more assertive on the nose that the colour leads one to expect, with fresh aromas of peach and nectarine, an energetic palate with a citrus/grapefruit intensity and a salty, mineral character. One of the most interesting vintages of L'Oratoire for some years. RKL

Tasting NotesTank sample. Pale onion skin colour, almost translucent at the rim but with a tinge of violet. Delicate red fruit aromas, cucumber, raspberry and watermelon on the mid-palate, with a spicy, almost smoky finish (probably from the use of some Mourvedre in the blend, not present in L'Oratoire) giving it good energy that persists for a surprisingly long time. This leaves such a different impression on the palate to L'Oratoire rosé (both are delicious), it's fascinating to compare them. RKL
