2022 Wayfarer Chardonnay & Pinot Noir

"This is a terrific set of wines from Wayfarer" - Antonio Galloni on the 2022 releases

We are delighted to have secured an allocation of the latest 2022 releases from Wayfarer Vineyard, a small, cool-climate vineyard on California's Sonoma Coast.  Established by the Pahlmeyer family and inspired by a dream of buying land in Burgundy, you can read more about Wayfarer's story below.

The 2022 growing season on the Sonoma Coast was particularly strong for Pinot Noir, with record heat over Labor Day weekend at the start of September, just before harvest.  This led to lower yields than usual, but also to deep, concentrated, and highly aromatic reds.

From the 2022 white wines, we offer the Wayfarer Vineyard Chardonnay (£380 per six), scoring 94 points from The Wine Advocate.  From the reds, the 2022 Pinot Noir Estate (£380 per six) scores 96 points from Vinous.  Galloni describes it as "a wine of total class and understatement...quite simply, magnificent."

We also have very limited allocations of the single-block 2022 'Mother Rock' Pinot Noir (96 points from Vinous) at £495 per six and the 2022 'Golden Mean' Pinot Noir (95 points, Vinous) at £495 per six.  You can learn more about their distinctive characters in the notes below.

We have tasted the range several times over the last three years and have been very impressed by their concentration and energy, which easily match that of grand cru red and white burgundy.

Please let us know as soon as possible if you would like to order, as allocations are strictly limited.

Offered en primeur, landing in the UK in spring 2025.
